89 pilgrims leave for Amarnath in 42nd batch


JAMMU (10 Aug. 2011) : The 42nd batch of pilgrims comprising 89 people today left for the Amarnath yatra from here amid tight security, police said. As many as 50 men, 12 women, 2 children and 25 sadhus left from the Bhagwati Nagar base camp here around 0500 hours this morning in a cavalcade of 4 vehicles for the 13,500-feet high cave shrine situated in south Kashmir Himalayas.


With today’s batch, as many as 79,119 pilgrims have left Jammu in 42nd batches for their onward journey to the holy cave. (AGENCIES)
